Season 2 of Power just wrapped up so Joseph Sikora p/k/a Tommy has some free time on his hans. He stopped by DJ Whoo Kid’s The Whoolywood Shuffle on Shade 45 to kick it and drop some old school Hip Hop flows. Joe revealed that he misses the heyday of Hip Hop, with artists like MC Breed, EPMD, Eric B. & Rakim, KRS-One, etc. Speaking on the success of the Starz show, Joe also sheds some insight on certain scenes being cut. With budget and time constraints, not everything makes your television set. There was one scene that came immediately to his mind on the first episode of season one. Tommy was in bed with this girl and put the barrel of a gun down this girls vagina, and ultimately this scene was cut for the better. He explained that at this point no one understood who his character was, let alone the plot line of the show.
With Power showing no signs of slowing down, Joseph expanded on why the show has been so successful. With 50 Cent at the helm, everyone came to the show because of him. But once the plot started to roll out everyone fell in love with the cast, and the rest is history. Not many rappers/artists can cross over to acting from music and see mainstream success in it. Joseph states that this is all due to what’s in 50′s chest, with the passion and heart that 50 possesses.
