Ty Dolla $ign recently stopped by DJ Whoo Kid’s The Whoolywood Shuffle in promotion of his upcoming debut album Free TC. The interview kicks off with Ty turning down Illuminati rumors, because he had music premiered at New York Fashion Week recently.
The main goal of his upcoming album is to open the eyes of his fans. There’s a lot of instances of injustice in society, so Free TC is dedicated to his close friend locked up for a murder he didn’t commit. So all the proceeds from this album will be pumped back into that case in hopes of an acquittal.
On the topic of police injustice, Ty Dolla Sign speaks on Wiz’s recent arrest at LAX and also an instance where he was profiled at an airport which didn’t hit the media. First on the Wiz arrest where Wiz was tackled to the ground on the ioHawk scooter, Ty said the officer was just upset he couldn’t get a picture. There was another situation though, which didn’t hit the media. Ty was coming from Atlanta and was stopped in the airport. Cops were trying to say that him and his crew were really coming from Kentucky, which was false, and committed a slew of bank robberies.
The interview closes out with his relationship with Diplo, and growing up on Pete Rock, J Dilla and DJ Premier. He says there are more Kanye records in the vault, and Drake could end up on the album. Free TC is out November 13th!
